"And just imagine how an open, unprotected heart can touch the world. No barriers, no boundaries; love pouring in and out, self to self. An empty vessel that is also full… and limitless." satyashanti.com
I am learning to live with a “broken open heart”. Many of us who give our hearts to others will suffer a heart broken open by sorrow when that loved one leaves us. As pet companions we are almost guaranteed this experience. If you are a pet rescuer you will be heart broken by all the pain and neglect. You will cry and rage against the cruelty and suffering. Your heart will break open.
This is a strong and sometimes beautiful experience. You will not be able to sleep, drink, or laugh it away. You will never be the same. How to go forward
from this broken place is a challenge. You are more powerful now and more
vulnerable. You see more, feel more,
experience more. Hold close the “fierce love” which can
come from having the heart broken. There is much to see, much to feel, and
so very much to do.
